Synecore Secures Hospital Air Conditioning Maintenance London Contract

Moorfield Eye Hospital has contracted Synecore to provide its hospital air conditioning maintenance contract in nine of their London clinics  over the next two years.

Moorfield Hospital operates 32 eye clinics throughout the country, offering NHS and Private treatments. The organisation provides not just expert clinical care but is also leading the way in essential research and development for new treatments, as well as teaching the next generation of eye doctors.

High patient footfall and important research are all factors that need key consideration when maintaining hospital air conditioning systems. For the Moorfield hospital’s facilities management team, having a professional air conditioning company on board is essential.

Unhappy with their previous supplier, Moorfield Hospital elected Synecore to carry out the scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) of their air conditioning systems in nine sites throughout London. Synecore will carry out two maintenance visits per year at each clinic.

Hospital Air Conditioning Maintenance

The scale of the hospital air conditioning maintenance visits varies depending on the number of units in each property. For instance, St Ann’s Hospital in North London, only features four units and will take substantially less time to complete the initial PPM visit, compared to Moorfield’s Private Hospital in central London, which has 80 units. The majority of the hospitals receiving air conditioning maintenance visits comprise between 44-51 units each.

Synecore is due to carry out its initial PPM visits next month. The company’s air conditioning engineers will spend approximately a week per hospital to clean the units, pipework and filters, check for leaks and any faults that may influence the effectiveness of the system. After a thorough inspection, any necessary repairs will be made and the FGas records will be completed.

FGas compliance applies to all commercial buildings that operates an air conditioning system with a CO2 equivalent charge weight of 5 tonnes and above. It is legal requirement to keep FGas records for commercial air conditioning systems and to obtain a TM44 certification. This is a building’s energy efficiency certificate for air conditioning systems, which must be renewed every four years.

Synecore’s Planned Preventative Maintenance customers can be rest assured their legal obligations for FGas compliancy and TM44 certification are taken care of within their air conditioning maintenance package. They benefit from Synecore’s priroty 24/7 emergency call out service.
