Synecore facilitates Inamo’s interactive dining experience in Covent Garden

Inamo’s illustrious combination of using technology to provide an interactive dining experience of Asian cuisine has been revolutionary in the hospitality industry. When Synecore was asked by long standing client, Fileturn to complete the mechanical and electrical design and installation for Inamo’s new three-story site in Covent Garden, it was exposed to the intricate details required to ensure the sophisticated AV technology worked effectively and the HVAC system was in keeping with the interior design.

Inamo’s state-of-the-art ordering system, which is designed by the client’s own team, allows customers to peruse the menu and place orders on interactive table cloths, and instantly rate their food. While they wait a selection of engaging games are projected onto the table to entertain both children and adults. To support this engaging dining experience, Synecore provided the full electrical design and installation.

“We had to ensure the containment and cabling was suitably positioned to support the projectors above each table,” explained Paul Thomas, Synecore’s Managing Director. “The same first fix treatment was applied for the Dali lighting system, which changes to create different moods and colour schemes, suited to all times of day and night.”
Over the three levels, Synecore designed and installed the general power, fire alarm system, data, lighting and complete HVAC system.

“The low ceiling height and limited available space for the plant meant the HVAC design and installation was incredibly complex,” says Thomas. “Over the three levels we installed exposed traywork and ductwork, which we sprayed black; this was fed by Toshiba ducted fan coils. In the basement, where the ceilings were too low for exposed services, we used floor mounted units to utilise the space.”

The installation was completed within the £300,000 budget and the 12 week lead-time, allowing Inamo to begin trading from early January.
