Synecore completes M&E contract at Bermondsey Square Hotel
Interior design experts, Fileturn approached Synecore to complete the M&E contract for Bermondsey Square hotel, a chic boutique hotel within the heart of London’s Bermondsey. As a long standing client, Fileturn could rely upon Synecore’s profession service to complete the electrical and mechanical fit out for 11 of the hotel’s 80 bedrooms on the first floor and the public areas, which included the open plan dining, bar and reception area, office, meeting room and washrooms.
Across the ground and first floor Synecore managed and installed the general power for the electrical fixtures, data cabling and IP TV connections. The electrical installation was put in place to support the computers, card machines, the RFID access control system fitted to the bedroom doors, new and existing mechanical equipment, televisions and games machine in reception.
On the spacious ground floor the hotel wanted to create designated zones to provide guests with private and comfortable areas for socialising and business meetings. The lighting played a key role in creating the specified zones. Throughout the dining area, Synecore installed recessed LED strip lighting within the ceiling, pendant lighting for the serving stations, spot lights, down-lighters and lamps within the dining booths.
The first floor refurbishment incorporated newly constructed bedrooms, meaning a lot of the existing electrics, air conditioning and ventilation were redundant, therefore, Synecore stripped out of all the disused services and installed new supply and exhaust air ducts for two Heat Recovery Units.
In the bedrooms ambient lighting was fitted to the cased goods, while large lit mirrors and recessed LED down-lighters helped to create a calming, relaxed environment. In the case of a fire the disabled access room was fitted with vibrating pillows and mobile alarms. Synecore also modified the main fire detection alarm system to accommodate the new bedrooms and layout on the ground floor.
Following the completion of the installation, Bermondsey Square Hotel joined Synecore’s essential service and maintenance programme to take care of the air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration throughout the building and ensure they remain FGas compliant all-year-round. As part of the contract, Synecore will service the Mitsubishi R410a VRF system’s nine condensing units, 109 cassette units, BC control boxes, the server room, and condensers for the kitchen cold room, the beer cellar, various fridges, freezers and ice machines.
